Jennifer strives to maintain excellence across her entire scope of practice. She trained with Robyn Merkel-Walsh, M.A., CCC-SLP, and Edythe Strand, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, experts in two areas of speech pathology she is most passionate about: (1) oral placement therapy/feeding/orofacial-myofunctional disorders, and (2) childhood apraxia of speech. She attended Ms. Merkel-Walsh’s training entitled Functional Assessment and Remediation of TOTs (tethered oral tissues or lip/cheek/tongue tie). Jennifer also attended an advanced, invitation only, workshop on evaluating and treating childhood apraxia of speech with Dr. Strand in San Antonio, Texas. Jennifer’s most recent trainings are in the areas of assistive technology and myofascial release. She attended two workshops with John Halloran, co-creator of the Language Acquisition through Motor Planning AAC strategies for promoting development of communication in individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Jennifer believes these advanced courses add richly to her treatment toolbox.

In her spare time, Jennifer likes to read, exercise, travel, and volunteer. She lives with her husband of 25 years. They volunteer at Keystone Church in Keller, Texas on most Sunday mornings, and they are enjoying life in their newly empty nest.
